Pitney Bowes Business Insight, the company that owns the MapInfo brand, has joined the Business Software Alliance in India. The move positions PBBI to be close to the growth of GIS in India expected over the next decade.

As part of the membership agreement, John O’Hara, PBBI's executive in charge of international operations, will represent PBBI on BSA’s committee in India.

The Business Software Alliance is one of the largest groups of (mainly) US companies dedicated to promoting the protection of IP in Asia by attempting to ensure that government agencies and private organisations buy licences to the software they use.
