Navinfo Wins Copyright Infringement Suit

Chinese mapping company Navinfo has won a lawsuit against Shanghai Acorn Network Technology Development and Beijing Acorn Trade (both part of Acorn International), and Shenzhen Careland Computing Systems Technology for copyright infringement. According to media reports, Acorn copied Navinfo maps for use in its GPS navigations systems. The three companies have been ordered to pay RMB 580,000 in damages.
