The Global Map of the Republic of Azerbijan has been released. This brings to 25 the number of countries that have released maps to the Global Map standard this year.

Global Map is a project to map the entire world at 1:1 million scale of known and verified quality, with consistent specifications. It is freely available. Global Map is considered a common asset of humankind and will be distributed worldwide at marginal cost.

The International Steering Committee for Global Mapping was established in 1996 in Tsukuba Japan by the participants of the Preparatory Meeting of the ISCGM.

ASM Newsletter is distributed by e-mail every two weeks. It reports on events in the spatial industry in Asia and events outside the region which will impact on Asia.
