Monday 16 Jun 2008

Russia's Glonass satellite system will become fully operational in 2010 if it receives sufficient financing, says Anatoly Perminov, the head of the Russian space agency, Roscosmos. Glonass (Global Navigation Satellite System) is the Russian equivalent of the US GPS. Perminov says that in the 15 years before 2005, the system received only about 43 per cent of the required funds.
