The Global Mapping Forum 2008 will be hosted in Tokyo 5-7 June. Now entering its fifth year, the forum aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information between data providers and users of Global Map.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Y. Tsukio from the University of Tokyo. The event is being organised by the International Steering Committee for Global Mapping and Geographical Survey Institute.
Global Map is the term used to describe digital geographic data sets developed through the Global Mapping Project. This is a co-operative venture of national mapping organisations. It promotes the use of this data for environmental conservation and natural disaster mitigation worldwide.
