Malaysia has launched Digital Sabah, a project that aims to take the mapping of Sabah, on Borneo, to a new level. It will involve a synthetic aperture radar view of the topography. It is the first time that the Malaysian government has allowed aerial data to be acquired and then distributed to a large number of parties.
More...Just one week prior to its target launch date, GeoEye has announced that the launch of its high-resolution commercial imaging satellite, GeoEye-1, will be delayed yet again. In another setback for the company, the Washington Post has reported that successive launch delays have meant that GeoEye will be lowering its stated profit for the period 2005 through 2007 by $31 million.

More...Erdas has released Erdas Titan 2009. Users can now browse and load shared data directly within Erdas Imagine and ArcGIS. This latest version can also now transform the ECWP into a WMS. Support has been added for accessing layers made available as web services in Erdas Apollo. It will be available in the fourth quarter of 2008.
