Supergeo Technologies, a leading global provider of complete GIS software and solutions, announced that SuperSurv 3.1a, the mobile GIS software for Android platform, now supports high definition mobile devices.

Boundless, formerly OpenGeo, has released version 4.0 of OpenGeo Suite. This release brings new features and improvements, including component upgrades to PostGIS 2.1, GeoServer 2.4, GeoWebCache 1.5 and support for OpenLayers 3 and QGIS. These enhancements expand the capabilities of OpenGeo Suite, enabling enterprises to replace legacy software with a web-based open source geospatial stack.

Envitia is delighted to announce the launch of Envitia Discovery 2.7 for Modelling and Simulation. Envitia Discovery allows organisations to seamlessly share and reuse geospatial and modelling data. Users are able to rapidly discover, transform, and stream geospatial data into Modelling and Simulation applications using open standards. Powerful production workflows coupled with an initiative web portal ensure that end users are never more than a few clicks from finding their required datasets.  Envitia Discovery reduces the time spent hunting for data and instead allows more time for data visualization and exploitation in systems.

3-GIS, an Alabama based GIS software development company, has announced they’ve released their mobile software called 3-GIS Mobile 2.1 with Android compatibility. 3-GIS worked with Gas Technology Institute (GTI)—a leading research and development organization serving energy and environmental markets—and Operations Technology Development (OTD)—a partnership of natural gas distribution companies formed to develop, test, and implement new technologies—over the past 18 months to design and develop this application with specific gas industry functionality.

The end of October will see Virtalis shipping the widely anticipated GeoVisionary Version 2.0. GeoVisionary was developed by Virtalis in collaboration with the British Geological Survey (BGS) as specialist software for high-resolution visualisation of spatial data.
