TanDEM-X: 2011 Operational Ready for Operation

On 14 December 2010 TanDEM-X mission has reached another important milestone: the test phase was completed on schedule in less than six months and prove that the operational mode, ie the collection of elevation data, can begin from 2011. The TanDEM-X mission has been at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) developed in collaboration with Astrium GmbH and operated by DLR-Oberpfaffenhofen. The aim of the mission is to create a highly accurate, three-dimensional elevation model of the Earth's surface.
