Delhi Looks to Mobility Plan to Decongest City Arteries

Grappling with a messy traffic situation in the city, the state government is working on an exhaustive traffic mobility plan. "If adhered to completely, the plan will ease out traffic congestion in a period of four months from the date of execution," says a top official of urban planning department.  The plan, prepared by a Delhi-based consultant, Urban Mass Transit Corporation (UMTC) has recommended overhauling of the entire traffic infrastructure at an estimated cost of around Rs 33 crore.
