The SIRIUS I Orthophoto UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) is a perfect tool for mapping applications: It is easy to handle, portable and can be operated by one person. SIRIUS I is launched by hand and has a total maximum flight time of 50 min. Beside the fully automatic flight mode we offer a special„assisted“ (autopilot supported) flight mode.
This means SIRIUS is controlled by simple up/down, left/right commands and the autopilot takes care of the stabilization of the plane. In this mode it is possible to land in small spaces. The UAV is operational up to 50 km/h windspeed with gusts up to 65 km/h.
The area that can be covered during one flight depends on the Ground Sampling Distance (GSD: size of area represented by each pixel in a digital photo):
- 130 ha at 10 cm Ground Sampling distance (GSD)
- 100ha at 8 cm GSD
- 80 ha at 5 cm GSD
- 60 ha at 3 cm GSD
- 40 ha at 2 cm GSD
For testing purposes we offer two demo datasets for download under the following address: ftp://mavinci.eu
