New Zealand Embarks on Four-Year, $4 Million Mapping Programme

The government of New Zealand has announced a research programme today to use satellite imagery and geospatial mapping to map forests, pastures, rivers and cities across the country. The four-year Land Cover Research Programme was launched with a joint announcement by Environment Minister Nick Smith and Science and Innovation Minister Wayne Mapp.

Velodyne Lidar Expands Global Reseller Network

The company announced that it has signed an agreement with Argo Corporation to serve as Velodyne’s exclusive reseller of HDL-64E and HDL-32E high definition 3-D LiDAR sensors in Japan. Velodyne’s LiDAR sensors are primarily designed for vision systems that are integrated into robots and unmanned vehicles, markets served by Argo.

Trimble today announced second quarter 2011 revenue of $407.2 million, up approximately 22 percent as compared to the second quarter of 2010. Operating income for the second quarter of 2011 was $51.6 million, up 27 percent as compared to the second quarter of 2010. Operating margin in the second quarter of 2011 was 12.7 percent, compared to 12.2 percent in the second quarter of 2010.
