The Geospatial Information Authority of Japan is currently carrying out surveying projects in accordance with the country’s long-term plan for basic surveys, which covers basic surveys for the ten-year period from 2009 to 2018. The Long-Term Plan has been established approximately every ten years since it was established in 1953.
