A conference on military and civilian surveying and mapping development just concluded in China. During the 12th Five-Year Plan period the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (SBSM) and the Surveying and Mapping Bureau of the General Staff Headquarters (SMBGSH) will facilitate military and civilian integrated development, improving the regulations and standards, and pushing forward achievement sharing and exchange as well as scientific and technological innovation in mapping.
