30 Telemetry Stations in Malaysia for Flood Warning system

The government has set up 30 telemetry stations along the Rajang River to serve as an early flood warning system. The stations will begin from here until Kapit town, a distance of about 126km upriver. Telemetry is a wireless data transfer technology that allows remote measurement and reporting of information. Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas said the telemetry stations were part of Sibu town’s RM78mil flood mitigation project given out under the Second Economic Stimulus package.
