GLONASS to Reach Cm-Accuracy – General Designer

Urlichich reminded that 24 spacecraft in 3 orbital planes at the altitudes of 19100 km are to form GLONASS constellation to provide global coverage. Currently, there are 21 satellites in Russian Global Navigation System.  According to him, accuracy of navigation signals is to reach cm-quality in the nearest future. Urlichich added that only Russia and the USA have their own navigation systems.

China to Create Largest Mega City in the World

City planners in south China have laid out an ambitious plan to merge together the nine cities that lie around the Pearl River Delta. The new mega-city will cover a large part of China's manufacturing heartland, stretching from Guangzhou to Shenzhen and including Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing. IBM To Build Massive China Cloud Data Centers

The multi-building campus will cover 6.2 million square feet and include offices, call centers, restaurants, and living spaces, as well as what appear to be at least seven, low-slung data centers, each with 160,000 square feet, according to an architectural drawing of the site. The new data center will host such services as transportation management and e-government.
