Vietnam is to receive almost $8 billion in investment for infrastructure from outside agencies it was reported this week. This money will be used to accelerate the country's infrastructure construction and help to connect climate change efforts toward it at the same time.
As Vietnam News Agency reported this week, "The World Bank with $2.6 billion will again be the major multilateral donor and Japan, $1.76 billion, the major bilateral donor. Asian Development Bank, Viet Nam, director Ayumi Konoshi said that ADB's 1.5 billion would be used in the public sector and for the development of Public-Private Partnerships. The ADB planned to provide Viet Nam with $10 billion to 2015," he said.
It is exciting to see the public-private connection being stressed in this agreement. In 2010 alone there are 21 projects operating with a combined investment of nearly $1 billion - from the US alone.
Land administration development plays a crucial role in this development as the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) reported.
